EV Charging Socket with Up-Down Adjustment: Dr. Storm Socket

EV Charging Socket with Up-Down Adjustment: Dr. Storm Socket

Outdoor EV charging sockets have one common problem: the cable always hangs straight down. Result? If the installer routed the cable from above, it bends 180° right at the plug. If the socket is mounted low and the cable comes from above - spaghetti under the wheels. Zero flexibility.

Poor Quality Sockets Are the Most Common Cause of Fires

Before we get to the solution, let's talk about the problem nobody mentions out loud:

Fire department statistics are clear - faulty electrical installations and low-quality equipment are the important source of fires in households. An outdoor socket, operated in changing weather conditions, with high current load during multi-hour car charging (16A for 8+ hours), is particularly vulnerable to overheating, short circuits, and contact damage.

Cheap products without certifications, with low-quality plastic contacts and faulty heat dissipation systems, may work for a few weeks without problems. The issue appears after months of use, when materials degrade, connections loosen, and temperature inside the socket starts exceeding safe values. Most often, this happens at night, during charging, when nobody's watching.

We designed Dr. Storm Socket with full awareness of this risk. We don't compromise on safety.

Dr. Storm Socket - Adjustable Head 90° Up-Down

Our Dr. Storm (PGC40A/B) socket for electric vehicles is the only socket on the market with a vertically adjustable head 90°. You can set the cable outlet from full up (90°), through any intermediate angle, down to full down (0°).

Why is this a game-changer?

Problem with typical sockets: fixed vertical orientation. Cable always hangs down. If the wire comes from above (e.g., from garage ceiling or pass-through under the eave) - you get a 180° bend right at the plug.

Dr. Storm does it differently:

Low mounting, cable comes from above? - adjust head upward (90°), cable enters naturally, zero bending
High mounting, cable needs to reach down? - adjust head downward (0°), classic outlet
Angled mounting? - set head at 45°, adapt to your installation geometry

This isn't about "better installation" - it's a completely different construction philosophy. You adapt the socket to the installation, not the installation to the socket.

🌧️ Construction Designed for Extreme Conditions

Flip-down cover - protective cover shields the socket when not in use
IP55 - full protection against dust and water jets (not just splashing)
Temperature range: -35°C to +50°C - frost won't crack the housing, heat won't deform the plastic

But most importantly: thanks to head adjustment, water flows BESIDE the socket, not into it. Even in the heaviest rain, you can direct the outlet so water physically can't access the connection point.

🔒 Anti-Theft Protection - Padlock

Dr. Storm has built-in padlock mounting points - lock the cover with a regular padlock, and nobody disconnects your cable or plugs into your power without your consent. Simple. Effective.

Your electricity isn't free. Secure it.

💪 3 MOUNTING OPTIONS - FULL FLEXIBILITY

Typical sockets: "you must drill a hole exactly here, otherwise it won't mount".

Dr. Storm:
Cable gland at bottom - standard wall mounting
Hole at back - cable pass-through wall
Hole at top - ceiling mounting or under eave

You adapt mounting to your installation + adjust head 90° = full control over cable geometry.

Why is Up-Down Adjustment Critical?

Because innovation in electrical installation products isn't about "wow" effect, but about consistent elimination of failure points.

Typical sockets: fixed orientation → 180° cable bend at plug → insulation micro-cracks → premature damage

Dr. Storm: 90° up-down adjustment → cable enters naturally at any mounting angle → longer life + safety

Two Versions - French and German

PGC40A (French type): 16A/250V (3680W) - standard for most home installations in Poland
PGC40B (German type - Schuko): 16A/250V (3680W) - compatible with German installations

Both in the same reinforced housing with 90° up-down adjustable head and padlock security option.

🏆 TÜV Rheinland Certification

Every Dr. Storm socket has an individual certificate number confirming compliance with IEC and EN standards. TÜV certificate isn't just a sticker on the package - it's German testing precision guaranteeing the product went through extreme conditions hell and came out unscathed.

24-month warranty - and honestly, we expect you'll call with a warranty claim only after 7-10 years, when the socket physically wears out. Not after six months because contacts overheated and plastic started melting.

30 Years of Experience Doesn't Come from Nowhere

Ampere Point isn't a startup that entered the market yesterday with their first product. It's a Polish company with thirty years of experience in electrical equipment manufacturing. When you have a problem - you speak Polish, with someone who knows the reality of Polish installations. Not with a call center in Asia.

Dr. Storm sockets (PGC40A/B) with 90° up-down adjustment available at AmperePoint.pl - same-day shipping for orders placed before 1:00 PM.
