Before You Buy a Charger - Check Your Socket!
Before purchasing a charger, you need to decide which socket you will be charging from. This is the most important decision, as it determines charging power and compatibility.
Charging from a household socket (230V)
- Power: 3.7 kW (16A, single-phase)
- Charging time: approx. 17 hours (Model 3 RWD 0-100%)
- For whom: Emergency charging, very low daily mileage (<30 km/day)
- Note: 20% of household sockets have faulty wiring (missing earth, reversed phases) - most quality chargers will not work with such issues
Compatible chargers (3.7 kW):
Hordozható töltő Q37 (16A, Type 2, 3,7 kW) WiFi, 7,5 méter
Hordozható töltő P35 (16A, Type 2, 3,7 kW) 6 méter
Charging from an industrial socket (CEE)
- Power: 11 kW (3-phase, 16A)
- Socket types: CEE 32A (large industrial), CEE 16A (small industrial), camping socket
- Charging time: 5-8 hours (Model 3 at 11 kW)
- For whom: Regular home charging, full use of the car's capabilities
small industrial 16A
large industrial 32A
Compatible chargers (11 kW):
- Q11 - portable charger 11 kW with WiFi app
- Q11 with adapters - also charges from 230V socket
- P11 - portable charger 11 kW with display
Hordozható töltő Q11 (16A, Type 2, 11kW) mobilalkalmazás
Hordozható töltő Q11 PRO (16A, Type 2, 11kW) + 2x adapter
Hordozható töltő P11 (16A, Type 2, 11kW)
Not sure what you have at home? Send us an email with a photo at hello@amperepoint.com and we will help you figure it out. The option that always works is the Q11 with adapters - you will be able to charge from both a 230V socket (slower) and a CEE socket (faster).
Charging Specifications
AC charging (alternating current)
- Maximum power: 11 kW (3-phase, 16A)

- Integrated cable
- Adapter version: also charges from a 230V socket (3.7 kW)
- Mobile app
Hordozható töltő Q11 (16A, Type 2, 11kW) mobilalkalmazás
Hordozható töltő Q11 PRO (16A, Type 2, 11kW) + 2x adapter
P11 (portable charger 11 kW)
Features:
- Power: 11 kW (3-phase 16A, CEE socket)
- Full charge: 5-6 hours (RWD), 7-8 hours (Long Range)
- Simple operation, solid build
Hordozható töltő P11 (16A, Type 2, 11kW)
Q11 vs P11 difference: Both are portable and offer 11 kW. The main difference: the Q11 with adapters can also charge from a 230V socket (3.7 kW), while the P11 requires a CEE socket. The Q11 also includes a mobile app. Check product descriptions for full details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a 3-phase installation?
YES, both the Q11 and P11 require a 3-phase 16A installation. Check with an electrician whether you have this at home.
Can I charge the Model 3 at public charging stations?
Yes! The Model 3 has a CCS2 connector and charges at all public AC and DC stations (Ionity, Orlen Charge, GreenWay).
What is the difference between AC and DC charging?
- AC (at home): slower, cheaper, charge overnight (11 kW = 5-8h)
- DC (on the road): faster, more expensive, charge in 27-35 minutes (250 kW in Long Range)
Summary
The Tesla Model 3 is the most technologically advanced electric car in the D-segment, with the fastest DC charging (250 kW in Long Range) and the best charging network (Supercharger every 150 km).
Charger recommendation: Q11 or P11 (11 kW) - full utilisation of the car's capabilities
Key to success: 3-phase 16A installation at home or in the garage
