Can I charge the Ładowarka do Nissan Townstar from a household 230V socket?
Yes, but only as a backup. A regular 230V Schuko maxes out at 3.7 kW, while the Ładowarka do Nissan Townstar can draw up to 7.2 kW. Daily charging from a household socket would take many hours - better to install a stronger source (3-phase CEE 16A or CEE 32A).
What's the difference between Q74 and P72?
The Q74 has the Tuya app (WiFi) - control from your phone, schedule overnight charging on cheaper tariffs, monitor energy use. First choice for most of our customers.
The P72 is simpler - control only via LCD display on the charger, no app. Same charging speed, lower price. Perfect if you don't need smart features.
Why do we recommend an 11 kW charger when the configurator shows max charging power of 7.2 kW?
The configurator shows 7.2 kW because that's the maximum AC charging power the Ładowarka do Nissan Townstar can accept. However, this model charges in a 2-phase manner, so to reach the full 7.2 kW you need a 3-phase 11 kW charger.
In practice, the 11 kW charger provides three phases, but the car uses only two of them. This way the car charges at 7.2 kW while the third phase remains inactive. This is normal behaviour resulting from the car's onboard charger design.
If you chose a 7.2 kW 1-phase charger instead, the car wouldn't reach full 7.2 kW. Due to its 2-phase charging design, the car would use only one phase, effectively limiting charging power to about 3.7 kW.
That's why, despite the car's max charging power being 7.2 kW, we recommend a 3-phase 11 kW charger. It's the one that lets you fully utilize this model's charging capabilities and shortens charging time compared to a 1-phase charger.
Are these chargers waterproof?
Yes. Q-series has IP65 rating, P-series IP54 - safe for outdoor charging in rain. Only the socket itself must be protected from direct flooding (cover/awning).
How much does the Q74 cost?
Q74 costs €272,95, P72 is €189,95. All come with 2-year warranty and 30-day returns.
What if my socket is old?
The Ładowarka do Nissan Townstar charges at 7.2 kW. An old Schuko socket will only give you 3.7 kW - for daily use, consider a dedicated CEE circuit. If unsure, we throw in a free consultation with our expert.
