Sono Sion - which charger model fits here?
The Sion has an 11 kW onboard charger and a Type 2 socket. The correct match is a Q11 or a P11, both rated at 11 kW. It is the only version of this model we hold in the database, so there are no power variants to check. One configuration, one match.
How long does charging a 47 kWh battery take?
At the onboard 11 kW, filling a 47 kWh pack from a low state takes around 4-5 hours. That is one of the shorter charges among electric cars, because the battery is moderate and the AC power is full. An afternoon stop in the garage is in practice enough for a full charge.
Will the Sion benefit from a 22 kW charger?
No. The Sion's onboard charger stops at 11 kW and the car will draw that much no matter how powerful the equipment you connect. A Q22 would give exactly the same charging time while requiring a stronger installation. For this model the upper sensible choice is a Q11, or a P11 if you prefer a display to an app.
How do the Q11 and P11 differ for the Sion?
Not at all in power - both give 11 kW and will charge 47 kWh in around 4-5 hours. The Q11 has app control and current adjustment; the P11 a display with a timer and simpler operation. Both are portable, so you can take them with you. The choice depends on whether you want to control it from your phone.
What connector does the Sono Sion have?
Type 2, the European standard. Neither a Type 1 cable nor an adapter is needed, and the B35 charger intended for Type 1 has no application here. Any of our 11 kW Type 2 chargers will connect to the Sion with no adapters at all.
I have a 2023 car - is the equipment different from newer ones?
No. The Sion appears with us in one version from 2023 and uses the same standard as contemporary electric cars: Type 2 and 11 kW AC. You buy exactly the same Q11 or P11 model as the owner of a new car with the same onboard power.
