Which charger do we match to the Genesis GV60?
The GV60 has an 11 kW onboard charger, like all 9 Genesis versions in our listing. So we match an 11 kW Q11, or a P11 if you prefer a display to an app. With batteries from 74 to 90 kWh that is full use of the car's capability and a charge that fits into one night.
Does the Genesis G80 need a different charger from the GV70?
No. The G80, GV60 and GV70 are three models and 9 versions in total, and each of them accepts 11 kW from alternating current. The recommendation is identical across the whole Genesis range: a portable charger or a Q11 wallbox. The differences between models concern battery capacity, not charging power.
How long does charging a Genesis with a 90 kWh battery take?
The largest battery in the Genesis range holds 90 kWh. At 11 kW a full cycle is around 8 to 9 hours. Versions with a 74 kWh battery will charge in around 7 hours. In both cases we fit into a single overnight charge with an 11 kW Q11.
Are there plug-in hybrids in the Genesis range?
Not in our listing. All 9 Genesis versions from the 2022-2026 model years are fully electric cars with batteries from 74 to 90 kWh. There are no models here with a small battery and low onboard power that would call for a weaker device such as a Q37 or Q74.
Will a 22 kW Q22 speed up charging a Genesis?
No. The onboard charger in every Genesis version accepts a maximum of 11 kW from alternating current and that sets the pace. Connecting a 22 kW device will give exactly the same time as a Q11. More powerful equipment will not speed up the G80, GV60 or GV70.
Type 1 or Type 2 - which cable for a Genesis?
Type 2. All 9 Genesis versions in the listing have this connector, so neither a Type 1 cable nor an adapter is needed. Type 2 is supported by both portable chargers and wallboxes, so the choice comes down to power, and with Genesis that is 11 kW.
