Jaecoo 5 EV, 7 and 8 - how does matching work across this range?
Jaecoo is a young brand for us; the database holds three versions from the 2025-2026 model years. Two of them accept 6.6 kW and there a Q74 or P72 comes in. One has 11 kW onboard and for that we match a Q11 or P11. Check your specific version before buying.
How long does the battery in the plug-in version take to charge?
The smallest pack in the Jaecoo range holds 16 kWh. With a 6.6 kW onboard charger, filling it from a low state takes around 3 hours. That is the typical plug-in hybrid scenario: a short evening stop is enough to drive on electricity the next day.
Is it worth buying a charger with power to spare for a Jaecoo?
No. None of the three Jaecoo versions in our database accepts more than 11 kW, and two stop at 6.6 kW. A charger more powerful than the car's onboard rating will not shorten charging by even a minute. We match exactly to what the car can do.
What connector do this brand's models use?
All three versions in our database use a Type 2 socket, the European standard. None has Type 1, so the B35 charger does not appear here. You buy ordinary Type 2 equipment: a Q74 or P72 at 6.6 kW, or a Q11 or P11 at 11 kW.
How long does charging the electric Jaecoo 5 EV take?
The 5 EV is the only version in the range with an 11 kW onboard charger and the largest pack, 58.9 kWh. A full charge from a low state takes roughly 5-6 hours with a Q11 or P11. A more powerful device will add nothing, because the car's rectifier sets the limit, not the charging point.
The brand is new - how do I check what my car accepts?
You will find the AC onboard charger power in the owner's manual and in the version specification, usually described as AC charging 6.6 kW or 11 kW. Both values occur in the Jaecoo range, so this single parameter decides whether you take a Q74 and P72 or a Q11 and P11.
