A charger cabinet is a metal enclosure in which you store a portable charger or a wallbox together with its cable. It protects the equipment from rain, snow and dust and from being taken by someone who should not have it, and it tidies up the charging point along the way: the cable no longer lies across the driveway or tangles in the garage.

The AMP-BOX comes in two versions: wall-mounted, and on a free-standing pole for parking spaces with no wall to hang anything on.

Why a charger cabinet

Weather protection. A charger has its own ingress rating, but constant exposure to rain, frost and UV shortens the life of the cable and the seals.

Theft protection. A portable charger is expensive equipment, and left on the driveway it is an easy target.

Tidiness. A cable coiled inside the enclosure rather than dropped on the ground means less mechanical damage and less risk of tripping.

Appearance. A closed cabinet looks better on a facade than a charger hanging from a hook.

AMP-BOX on a wall or on a pole

Wall version

You mount it on the garage wall, on the house facade or on a wall in a parking hall. It is the cheapest and quickest option to install, provided the wall is a reasonable distance from where you park.

Pole version

This works when you park on an open driveway, under a carport without full walls, or when you want a charging point between two parking spaces. The pole is also available separately if you already have a wall cabinet and want to change how it is mounted.

What fits inside

The cabinet is designed for portable chargers with a control unit and a coiled cable, and for compact wallboxes. Before buying, compare the internal dimensions with those of your device together with its coiled cable, because it is the cable, not the unit itself, that determines the volume you need. If you are not sure, write to us with your charger model and we will check the fit.

Installation

The cabinet itself requires no electrical work and no electrician if you are storing a portable charger in it: you simply fix the enclosure to the wall or the pole. An electrician is needed when the cabinet is to hold a permanently wired wallbox, or when an industrial socket has to be run to the mounting position.

Accessories worth adding

For a complete charging point it is worth adding a Type 2 plug wall holder, which fits every charger, and a control unit holder, available in versions for the Q series and for the P and B series. The full set settles the question of storage: the device, the plug and the cable each have their place.
