Which charger do we match to the Suzuki e VITARA?
The e VITARA is an electric car with an 11 kW onboard charger and a Type 2 connector, so we match a portable charger or an 11 kW Q11 wallbox. With a battery reaching 59.8 kWh a full charge takes around 5 to 6 hours, which fits comfortably into a night.
Is the Suzuki Across matched the same way as the e VITARA?
No. The Across is the only plug-in hybrid in the Suzuki range and the only version with 3.3 kW of onboard power. For it we match a 3.7 kW Q37, or a P35 with a display. The other three versions in our listing are the electric e VITARA with 11 kW and a Q11 match.
How long does charging the Suzuki Across plug-in hybrid take?
The smallest battery in the Suzuki range holds 17 kWh and belongs to the plug-in hybrid. At 3.3 kW of onboard power a full cycle is around 5 to 6 hours. A more powerful device will not shorten that, because the limit lies with the car, not the charger.
Why do we not recommend an 11 kW charger for the Across?
Because the Across accepts 3.3 kW and nothing beyond. An 11 kW device will give exactly the same charging time as a 3.7 kW Q37, only the equipment will be bigger. The rule is simple: we match the charger's power to the car's capability, not in reserve.
How do we know whether our Suzuki needs a Q11 or a Q37?
The onboard charger's power decides, not the model name. Of the four Suzuki versions from the 2020-2026 model years, three have 11 kW and a Q11 match, one has 3.3 kW and a Q37 match. You will find the value in the car's manual or in the technical specification of your version.
Do the Across and e VITARA have the same connector?
Yes. All 4 Suzuki versions in the listing, the hybrid and the electric cars, use a Type 2 connector. So the cable is shared and the difference concerns power only: 3.7 kW for the Across and 11 kW for the e VITARA. A Type 1 adapter is not needed here.
