Tuya charging schedule — set charging times step by step
Jan PrószyńskiShare
Set charging stop and start times in the Tuya app. Example: stop at 19:00 and start at 22:00, Monday to Friday. Configure the schedule on the device screen in the app; the Tuya cloud executes it.
A schedule acts at specific times, not as a continuous block throughout the period. To stop charging that starts between those times as well, add an automation based on the Charger Charging state.
Step by step
A schedule is set separately for each charger, in its own settings - not in the Automation tab.
- Open the charger's settings - from the home screen, select the charger from your device list, then tap the settings icon (gear) in the top right corner.
- Go to Schedule - this is a separate area from Automation, and it only handles time-based control for this one device.
- Add a new entry with the + button. To block a time window, you need two entries: an off command at the start of the window and an on command at the end.
- Set the time and the Off action for the start of the blocked window.
- Select the days of the week under Repeat - without this, the entry only runs once and then stops working.
- Save, then add a second entry - repeat steps 3–5 for the end time of the window, this time choosing the On action and the same days of the week.
- Check the schedule list - both entries appear with their time, action, and days. Either one can be toggled off without deleting it, for example while you're on holiday.
- Save the entries and check their times, actions and repeat days. The charger must have an internet connection when the command is executed.
The schedules and automations described in this guide are stored and triggered in the Tuya cloud, not in the charger's memory. At the scheduled time or after detecting an event, the cloud sends a command to the device. The charger must be connected to the internet for these commands to work.
If charging does not start after the period ends, configure the resume scene described in the full guide:
