Ampere Point B Series

The B Series consists of compact and reliable chargers for electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV), designed for simplicity, safety, and everyday convenience. The models offer 3.7 kW (1×230 V, 16 A) charging power and come in two versions with integrated cables:

Type 1 – for vehicles equipped with a Type 1 inlet,

Type 2 – for vehicles equipped with a Type 2 inlet.

This ensures every driver can choose the version perfectly suited to their car.

Performance and Control

B Series chargers allow adjustable charging current with four levels (8 A, 10 A, 13 A, 16 A), enabling users to match the charging process to the electrical installation or personal needs. The device automatically remembers the last selected settings, ensuring maximum convenience for repeated use.

Protection and Safety

Each B Series charger is equipped with a comprehensive set of protections, including:

overload protection,

overvoltage and undervoltage protection,

short-circuit protection,

residual current (RCD) protection,

grounding protection,

surge protection,

overheating protection.

With an IP65 protection rating, the chargers are dustproof and waterproof, making them safe to use both indoors and outdoors.

Intelligence and Reliability

The B Series features an intelligent error-correction chip that automatically reacts to parameter deviations, stabilizing the charging process. This ensures safe and reliable operation at all times—for the user, the charger, and the vehicle.

Najczęstsze pytania

Will a 3.7 kW charger charge an electric car overnight?
You will charge a plug-in hybrid with a 13 kWh battery in around 3.5 hours, and a car with a 40 kWh battery in around 11 hours, meaning overnight. With a 77 kWh battery a full charge will take over 20 hours, so such a charger works there as a top-up.
How do I know whether I need the Type 1 or Type 2 version?
Check the charging socket in your car. Type 2 has seven pins and is found in every car currently sold in Europe. Type 1 has five pins and is found in older models from the Japanese and American markets, for example the first-generation Nissan Leaf.
Is charging from a 230 V socket safe?
Yes, if the charger has its own residual current and thermal protection, and the socket is sound and connected directly, without an extension lead. For daily charging in an older building it is worth asking an electrician to check the circuit.
Does the B series have an app or current adjustment?
No. The B series is deliberately free of settings: you plug in and charge. You will find current adjustment and delayed start in the P series, and phone control in the Q series.
Is a B series charger suitable for everyday use?
Yes, with plug-in hybrids and cars with a smaller battery. With a large battery and long daily journeys, a wallbox or an 11 kW portable charger connected to an industrial socket will be more convenient.
