Ampere Point Prime 22 kW: wall-mounted EV charger with RFID, emergency stop button and optional DLB - TÜV Rheinland certified, IP65

On the outside, just a charger. On the inside, more than you'd expect.

Prime is a wall-mounted AC charger for electric vehicles, made for homes, apartment blocks and company fleets - anywhere with up to 3 charging points. TÜV Rheinland certification, dual electrical protection and a 7.5 m charging cable all come as standard - at a price where rivals often offer less than half the spec.

SAVE UP TO PLN 1,200 A YEAR*

On Poland's G12 tariff, off-peak electricity costs on average 40% less than on the standard G11 tariff. Set a schedule in the Tuya app and Prime charges your car off-peak only. Automatically. Nothing for you to do.

Drive a typical 15,000 km a year (around 3,000 kWh) and off-peak charging could take as much as PLN 1,200 off your electricity bill at 2026 rates. Drive more and the saving grows.

*Based on the Polish market and the G12 tariff in force in 2026. Actual savings depend on your energy supplier and how you charge.

📱 Tuya app + non-resettable energy meter

Track energy use and voltage in real time, and see your full charging history. The meter counts every kWh from first start-up and can't be reset, so you get a complete, unbroken record of what you've used. Scheduling your charging for cheaper off-peak hours takes just 2 minutes.

🔄 Over-the-air (OTA) updates via Wi-Fi

New features and software improvements arrive wirelessly. No service visit, no hardware swap.

🪪 3 RFID cards included

Assign each card to a different user: an employee, a resident or a family member. Only authorised users can start a charging session. Ready to use straight out of the box.

🛡️ Dual electrical protection

30 mA Type A RCD + 6 mA DC RDC-DD. The same level of protection you'll find in chargers costing three times as much. Not an upgrade. Not an extra. Standard.

✅ TÜV Rheinland certified

Independently verified quality, so you don't have to take our word for it.

🔴 Emergency stop button

A physical red button that cuts the power instantly. One press: no menus, no confirmation, no waiting. Most wallboxes at this price don't have one. We think it should be standard.

FOR INSTALLERS

Prime comes with full technical documentation, installation instructions in three languages and technical support Monday to Friday. You'll find contact details for installers and trade partners under Business in the menu.

Can I install the wallbox myself?

Yes. If you already have a suitable CEE 32A socket at home or in your garage, just fix Prime to a wall or mounting post and plug it in. For a hardwired connection, use a qualified electrician.

Does Prime work without Wi-Fi?

Yes. Basic charging works offline. You only need Wi-Fi for the Tuya app, remote scheduling and OTA software updates.

Can I buy extra RFID cards?

Yes. Extra RFID cards are available separately, though the 3 cards in the box should be plenty for most users. :)

Can I schedule charging without the app?

Yes. Set the charging timer using the buttons on the unit - no app login needed.

Frequently asked questions about EV chargers

How many amps is 22 kW?

A 22 kW wallbox draws 32 A on each of the three phases (3 x 32 A at 400 V).

That usually calls for a supply of around 22-24 kW. Some homes will need a supply upgrade before installation.

Not sure? Ask our team for advice before you buy.

Will my vehicle charge at 22 kW?

Only if its onboard charger supports 22 kW AC charging.

Most electric vehicles are limited to 11 kW on AC. A 22 kW wallbox will still charge them, but at a maximum of 11 kW.

We recommend a 22 kW wallbox if:

  • your vehicle supports 22 kW AC charging
  • you plan to move to an EV that supports 22 kW
  • you regularly charge several vehicles

22 kW or 11 kW wallbox: which is better for home charging?

For most homeowners, an 11 kW wallbox is the better choice. It costs less, usually needs no supply upgrade and will fully charge most electric cars overnight.

Choose a 22 kW wallbox if your car supports it and you want shorter charging times, or if the charger will serve several vehicles.

Does a 22 kW wallbox need a building permit?

In most cases, a private home charger doesn't need a building permit.

A 22 kW charger does draw a lot of power, though, so check your supply and wiring can handle it.

Any work on the wiring should always be done by a qualified electrician.

Do I need permission to install a charger at home?

In a house, usually not, but it's worth asking an electrician to confirm the installation meets the regulations. In an apartment block you may need consent from the residents' association or the building manager.

Is it safe to charge an electric car in the rain?

Yes. All our chargers are certified water-resistant (IP65 or IP66, depending on the model).

Can I use an extension lead to charge my electric car?

We don't recommend using ordinary extension leads to charge electric cars. A standard extension lead may not be rated for high loads, which can cause overheating or even a fire. If you have to use one, make sure it's designed for high loads, meets the relevant standards and is approved for use with your charger.
