Which charger do we match to the Lucid Air?
The Air, like all 9 Lucid versions in our listing, has a 22 kW onboard charger. So we match a 22 kW Q22. It is one of the few brands where the full 22 kW really will be used by the car rather than capped by the onboard unit.
Why do we recommend a Q22 for a Lucid when we usually advise against 22 kW?
Because here the car genuinely draws that much. In most brands the onboard charger stops at 11 kW and 22 kW is useless. In the Lucid all 9 versions from the 2022-2026 model years have 22 kW onboard, so a Q22 halves the charging time compared with a Q11.
How long does charging a Lucid Gravity with a 123 kWh battery take?
123 kWh is the largest battery in the Lucid range. At 22 kW a full cycle takes around 6 hours; at 11 kW it would be around 11 to 12 hours. The smallest battery in the listing, 88 kWh, will charge with a Q22 in around 4 to 5 hours.
What should we choose if the house cannot support 22 kW?
Then a portable charger or an 11 kW Q11 wallbox remains. The Lucid will charge correctly, just more slowly: an 88 kWh battery in around 8 hours, 123 kWh in around 11 to 12 hours. For overnight charging that is still enough, though you will not use the car's full capability.
Do all Lucid versions have the same connector?
Yes. All 9 Lucid Air and Gravity versions have a Type 2 connector, so one cable serves the whole range. No adapters or Type 1 versions are needed. Only power matters for the match, and in every version that is 22 kW.
Would we ever consider a Q37 or Q74 for a Lucid?
There is no reason to. All 9 Lucid Air and Gravity versions are fully electric cars, with batteries from 88 to 123 kWh and 22 kW of onboard power. We match the Q37 and Q74 to cars with a small battery and low onboard power, and the Lucid range has none.
