Which charger should you choose for the Lancia Ypsilon?
The Ypsilon has 11 kW onboard, so we match a portable charger or wallbox of the same power, meaning the Q11, or the P11 if you prefer operating from a display rather than an app. It is the brand's only electric model and all three of its versions from 2024-2026 have the same power, so a mistake is practically impossible.
How do we know the Ypsilon will not accept more than 11 kW?
From the technical data of all three versions - each has an 11 kW onboard charger. That sets the ceiling for alternating current charging. Connecting a more powerful wallbox changes nothing, because the car will draw those 11 kW at most. This applies to every model year from 2024.
How much time does the Ypsilon need for a full charge?
Batteries in the range hold from 48.1 to 50.8 kWh, so at 11 kW we are talking roughly 4.5 to 5 hours from a low state to full. If the car stands overnight, the question of time does not arise in practice.
Does a 7.4 kW charger make sense for the Ypsilon?
It does, if your supply does not allow 11 kW. A Q74 or P72 will charge a 50.8 kWh battery in around 7 hours instead of 5, and they differ only in operation: app or display. The car will not suffer, it simply charges more slowly. With a three-phase installation, though, we stay at 11 kW.
The Ypsilon is mainly driven in the city - do I have to charge it to full?
You do not. At 11 kW one hour is around 11 kWh, roughly a quarter of the 48.1 kWh battery. Short, regular top-ups fully cover city mileage, and a portable charger works just as well here as a wallbox.
Q11 or P11 for the Lancia Ypsilon?
Both chargers deliver the same 11 kW, so the charging time will be identical. You control the Q11 from an app and can set the current there, while the P11 has an LCD display and simpler operation without a phone. Both are portable, so the choice is about convenience, not the Ypsilon's specifications.
