Which charger should you choose for the Maserati Grecale?
The Grecale, like Maserati's whole electric range, has a 22 kW onboard charger. You will get full speed from a Q22 connected to a three-phase installation. If you prefer operating from a display, a P11 will also charge this car, but at 11 kW, so more slowly. Both chargers are portable, so you can take them on the road.
Do the GranTurismo and GranCabrio need anything different from the Grecale?
No. All three models have an identical 22 kW onboard, so the match is common to the whole range. They differ in batteries, from 83 to 98.6 kWh, which affects charging time only. One 22 kW Q22 device will serve any of these cars.
How long does charging a Maserati with a 98.6 kWh battery take?
From the full 22 kW that is around 4.5 hours, and the smaller 83 kWh battery closes in just under 4 hours. This is one of the few cases where a Q22 genuinely shortens the stop, because the car can use all of that power.
What if I only have 11 kW at home?
The Maserati will charge without trouble, just more slowly: an 83 kWh battery then takes around 8 hours and 98.6 kWh around 9 hours. That still fits into an overnight stop. A Q22 only makes sense with a three-phase 32 A supply.
What charging socket do electric Maseratis have?
Type 2 in all three versions from 2024-2026. That is the European alternating current standard, so any portable charger or wallbox with a Type 2 plug fits without adapters. At 22 kW just make sure the cable is rated for that power.
Is it worth charging a Maserati from a 7.4 kW charger?
Only as an emergency. A 98.6 kWh battery at 7.4 kW is around 13 hours, more than one night. With packs this large and 22 kW onboard we would rather plan a three-phase supply and treat 7.4 kW as a solution for trips.
