Which charger fits the Abarth 500e?
The Abarth 500e has an 11 kW onboard charger, so we match equipment of the same power: the Q11, or the P11 if you prefer a display to app control. This covers all six versions in the range, because every one of them accepts 11 kW from alternating current. More powerful equipment changes nothing here.
Does the Abarth 600e need anything different from the 500e?
No. Both models, the 500e and the 600e, have the same 11 kW onboard power - they differ only in the battery, from 37.3 to 50.8 kWh. The same charger will handle either car, and a larger battery only means a longer charging time, not different equipment.
How long does a full charge of an electric Abarth take at home?
At 11 kW the 37.3 kWh battery needs around 3.5 hours, and the largest in the range, 50.8 kWh, around 5 hours. That is counted from a very low state to full, so a typical overnight charge fits comfortably inside that window.
Will a 22 kW charger speed up charging an Abarth?
It will not. The onboard charger in the 500e and 600e takes a maximum of 11 kW and that is the bottleneck. A Q22 connected to such a car will still deliver 11 kW, so nothing in the Abarth range justifies reaching for more powerful equipment.
What if my garage only has a single-phase supply?
Then you are looking at 3.7 kW, so the Q37 or the P35 if you prefer a display to app control. The Abarth will charge properly, just more slowly: the 37.3 kWh battery takes around 10 hours, and 50.8 kWh as much as 14 hours. For short daily commutes that is usually enough.
