Porsche comprend six modèles et pas moins de 49 versions des années 2013 à 2026, allant de la Panamera et du Cayenne au Macan et au Taycan. La grande majorité, 43 versions, utilise 11 kW et c’est pour elles que nous choisissons le chargeur mobile ou le wallbox Q11. Les six autres se rechargent à une puissance de 3,6 kW, 3,7 kW ou 7,2 kW, c’est-à-dire avec les équipements Q37 ou Q74. Which charger should you choose for the Porsche Taycan?
The Taycan is a fully electric car with 11 kW alternating current charging, as are all 43 electric versions in the Porsche range. We match a Q11 to it, or a P11 if you prefer a display to an app. Batteries in this range reach 108 kWh and the connector is Type 2.
How does the match differ for plug-in hybrids in the Porsche range?
Six plug-in versions have considerably weaker onboard chargers than the electric cars. Three of them accept 7.2 kW and get a Q74; another three only 3.6 or 3.7 kW and for those a Q37 is right. Batteries start at 7.5 kWh here, so that power is entirely sufficient.
How long does charging the largest battery, 108 kWh, take?
At 11 kW a full charge from empty takes roughly 10-11 hours, meaning a longer stop or a night with the car plugged in. Topping up from 20 to 80 percent is around 6 hours. The hybrid 7.5 kWh at 3.7 kW, in turn, is around 2 hours.
The Porsche range has four different charging powers - how do I check my version?
Across the 49 versions in our database you will find 3.6 kW, 3.7 kW, 7.2 kW and 11 kW. Look in the technical data for the entry on alternating current charging or on the onboard charger. The electric cars are always 11 kW, and the lower values concern plug-in versions only.
Does a 2013 Porsche charge with the same plug as the new models?
Yes. Our database covers the 2013-2026 model years and in all 49 versions the AC connector is Type 2. So the cable is the same for an older hybrid and for a Taycan. Only the power changes, and with it the choice between a Q37, Q74 and Q11.
Would any Porsche version benefit from a 22 kW charger?
No. The highest AC charging power in this range is 11 kW and it applies to 43 of the 49 versions. A 22 kW device will be capped by the car at those 11 kW, so you gain nothing. Even with a 108 kWh battery the ceiling remains a Q11 or P11.
