Which charger for the Toyota bZ4X?
The largest group in the Toyota range, 16 of 30 versions, has 11 kW onboard and for it we match a Q11 or P11. That is the typical match for the brand's electric cars, such as the bZ4X. With the largest battery in the range, 72 kWh, a full cycle takes around 7 hours.
Which Toyota accepts 22 kW and when does a Q22 make sense?
Across the whole Toyota range only one of 30 versions has a 22 kW onboard charger and only for it does a Q22 bring a real benefit. Charging then shortens by roughly half compared with 11 kW. For the other 29 versions it is power the car will not use.
Are there cars with a Type 1 connector in the Toyota range?
Yes, one version from the oldest model years. It has a Type 1 connector and 3.3 kW onboard, so we match the 3.7 kW B35 to it. The other 29 versions from 2012 to 2026 use the standard Type 2 and do not need that cable variant.

Plug-in batteries in the Toyota range start at 3.4 kWh, and the lowest onboard power is 3.3 kW. Such a pack fills in around an hour. In 6.6 kW versions we match a Q74; in 3.3 kW versions with a Type 2 connector a Q37 is enough.
For the Toyota bZ4X, is a Q11 or a P11 better?
The speed is identical, because the limit is the car's 11 kW onboard charger. You set and check the Q11 from an app, while the P11 shows everything on a display. Both chargers are portable and will fit in a boot. With a battery up to 72 kWh, either will charge the car overnight.
