It depends on the model year. Nissans in our database reach back to 2011 and over those years both the onboard power and the connector changed - we meet values from 3.3 to 22 kW, and three versions still have Type 1. The most frequently matched model is the 7.4 kW Q74.

Three of the 16 Nissan versions in our database have a Type 1 socket. For those we match the B35, the only charger with a Type 1 plug, rated at 3.7 kW. A 22 kWh battery will charge from it from empty in around 6 hours. The other 13 versions have Type 2 and standard chargers.

Our database holds exactly one such version out of 16, and it is the only case in which we match a Q22 to a Nissan. The rest of the range sits between 3.3 and 11 kW, so before reaching for a 22 kW charger, check your car's technical data.

The largest battery in the Nissan range holds 87 kWh. At the onboard 11 kW a full charge from empty takes around 8 hours, so it fits into an overnight stop. At 7.4 kW the same cycle grows to around 12 hours, which is why with a large battery a three-phase installation is worth having.

Because onboard powers around 7 kW dominate in this range - the Q74 fits 6 of the 16 versions in our database, more than any other model. It is a 7.4 kW charger that matches exactly what these cars accept from alternating current. A Q11 would not shorten their charging.

With two things: check the connector and the onboard power. In the 2011-2026 range we meet both Type 1 and Type 2, and powers from 3.3 through 6.6 and 7.4 up to 22 kW. Only those two figures settle whether you need a B35, Q37, Q74, Q11 or Q22.
