Por eso, con Volvo, solo el nombre del modelo no es suficiente: antes de elegir un cargador móvil o un wallbox, hay que saber si es híbrido o eléctrico.

Volvo XC40 plug-in and the electric EX40 - is the match the same?
No. Thirty-six plug-in versions in the Volvo range accept 3.7-7.2 kW, so we match a Q37 and P35 or a Q74 and P72. Forty electric versions run at 11 or 22 kW and there a Q11, P11 or Q22 comes in. That is why the model name alone is not enough for the match.
Which Volvo accepts 22 kW?
Five of the 76 versions in our database have a 22 kW onboard charger and only for those does a Q22 make sense. The rest of the range stops at 11 kW or below. Before choosing a Q22, confirm that value in your car's specification and check that you have a three-phase installation.

Why do you recommend only 3.7 kW for the S60 and S90 hybrids?
Because that is what they accept. Thirty-two versions in the Volvo range have an onboard charger of exactly 3.7 kW and they are plug-in hybrids with batteries from 8 kWh. Such a pack fills in 2-3 hours, so a Q37 or P35 is entirely sufficient. More powerful equipment will not shorten that time.
How long does charging a large electric Volvo at home take?
The largest pack in the range holds 112 kWh. At 11 kW a full charge from a low state is around 10-11 hours, meaning one night. A version with a 22 kW onboard charger comes down to roughly 5-6 hours. With plug-in hybrids and their 8 kWh battery we are talking about 2-3 hours.
The range covers 2014-2027 and five different powers - how do I check my version?
All 76 versions share a Type 2 socket, so the connector is not a problem. The onboard power settles it: the Volvo range has 3.7 kW, 6.6 kW, 7.2 kW, 11 kW and 22 kW. You will find it in the manual under the AC charging parameter, and we will match equipment to it.
