Why does a 3.7 kW charger come up most often across the Peugeot range?
Because 31 of the 70 versions in the database have 3.7 kW of onboard power and that is the largest group. A further 22 versions accept 7.4 kW, and 17 versions accept 11 kW. That is why we point to a Q37 by default, but we always ask you to check the AC power of your particular car.
Which Peugeot models have a Type 1 connector and what should you buy then?

The database holds 32 plug-in hybrids and 38 electric cars. The hybrids more often have 3.7 kW and the smallest pack in the range, 10.6 kWh, which at that power fills in around 3 hours. The electric cars reach 96.9 kWh and 11 kW. Hence the different models: a Q37 versus a Q11.
How long does charging a Peugeot with a 96.9 kWh battery take?
At 11 kW a full cycle is around 9 hours, at 7.4 kW around 14 hours, and at 3.7 kW more than a full day. That is why with the largest packs in the range it matters whether the car really does accept 11 kW - and only then does a Q11 make sense.
How do I check which of the three powers applies to my car?
The range splits into three levels: 3.7, 7.4 and 11 kW. You will find the value in the manual in the charging section, or in the version's technical data. Once you have read it the choice is simple: a Q37, Q74 or Q11, and as a simpler alternative with a display, the P35, P72 or P11 respectively.
Is it worth taking 11 kW for a car that has 7.4 kW?
No. A car with 7.4 kW onboard will draw 7.4 kW whatever you plug in. A Q11 will then behave exactly like a Q74. The range holds 22 such versions, so this is a frequent case - and the most common source of an unnecessarily powerful choice.
